This last week Creative Keepsakes magazine hosted an event in Provo called Creative Keepsakes University or CKU for short. Working at a scrapbook store, I was blessed(?) enough to come into contact with many of the women who had come to participate in the event.
While I love my job dearly, as well as the hobby of paper crafting and the like, I am not totally sure I wish to be included with some of the women to whom I came into contact.
Monday, before the actual even even started we had customers in the store demanding they be given a discount because they were to be CKU attendees. Wednesday, the day the event actually had pre-registration and such, they came in without their coupons demanding their discount. When they came back, coupon in hand they demanded that we multiply the use of said coupon. If it wasn't one thing it was another.
Don't get me wrong, I met many nice wonderful women who have similar interests as myself. They were kind and gracious for any assistance I or a fellow coworker offered. But those few "rotten apples" really spoiled my appetite to potentially participate in future CKU events if I were ever to have the opportunity.
So I will just keep plugging along, doing my own thing, I've pretty much always done it this way anyway, so why should I change course now?
Until next time...

W-A-Y T-O-O H-O-T
Yes, that is what I said... It is definitely WAY TOO HOT here.
Though it did rain some this evening... so that was a nice temporary reprieve from the heat. I just did not appreciate the lightening and thunder that came with it, but what'cha gonna do?
I do appreciate that Foster wasn't scared of the thunder, so that was a nice thing.
I was gonna put a funny story about Foster on here, so here goes.
One night we were getting ready for bed and just watching some TV. James had given Foster a puppy cookie and had broken it in half. Foster ate the one half, then he took the other half and burrowed into the blankets. He even did the whole digging motion with his front paws. Then he re-emerged from the blankies. Well, he had buried his cookie in the blankies. I pulled the cookie out and showed him and asked him if he was going to eat it. He took it from me and gave me like a disgusted look and reburied it, a little ways away from where he first buried it in the blankies. I was teasing him. Several minutes later he dug up his cookie and ate it. I can't believe he got so mad at me for digging up his cookie. But the dirty look, well, it was almost too much. Go figure.
So there's my funny Foster story. Hope you enjoyed it.

Waiting for the red tape
I am currently in a position to be waiting for the red tape. I interviewed or a position with Archiver's for the Events Coordinator for our store. I am merely waiting for th final answer. I honestly hope that I get the position. I LOVE this job! In fact I taught the Acrylic Album 2 class for the second time this morning. Darlene was in the class too, she was supposed to be observing and seeing how workshops generally go. She ended up being the personal assistant to a lady and her teenage daughter with an attitude who came in late. So in that aspect, I am glad she was there!
In the meantime, if you get the chance, say an extra prayer that I get the position, because then it would be full time and I would get a raise too!

Fosters, Australian for Beer
Seriously, that's why we named him Foster.
His dad is black lab and his mom is blue heeler--aka as an Australian sheep herding dog--hence the Fosters... Plus the tip of his tail and the tops of his toes on his paws are kind of frosted...like a frosty brew...
But we call him Foster and here we are giving him his very first bath--well at least the toweling off after...
And the last one is him sleeping with his little bear, he moved just so and the little bear was there and so he was hugging his bear--awwwwww.
He likes to burrow into the pillows, and he loves his Jamus.

Autograph Tattooed
That is Patrick's forearm. He went today and had it tattooed into his arm. Despite my feeling on tattoos (normally I am against them) I think this one is super cool. I guess I do enjoy the good art of a nice tattoo, I just don't like when they are frivolous or overdone.
Anyway, Thought I would share cause I thought it was cool.

POISON ROCKS!!!
So we went to the Poison concert last night in Salt Lake at the EAS (Energy Solutions Arena--formerly the Delta Center). It was SA-WEET!!!
Poison's logo for their 2008 summer tour!
The guys before the concert.
Chad took mine and James' picture. They said something rude to me just before--so I'm offended and well, it looks much worse in the photo than it really was... but they loved this photo.
Dokken opened for them, I only knew the last song they sang--I'd actually heard that one before.
Dokken performing.
And then after the concert we went to a local club--Club Vegas--where there was an after party with Bret Michaels. Patrick and I went in--someone decided they didn't want to stay since they live in Logan and so they sold us their two tickets for $25--regularly they were $25 EACH! They had only bought one and had been given the other that's why they sold us two for the price of one.
So James and Chad waited while Patrick and I went in the club. We waited for what seemed like forever--probably and hour or shortly more for Bret to get in the club. Then we waited for around another 90 minutes to meet Bret.
Bret singing with the band at the club. The band was called something like Dirty Lowdown or something. I didn't really like them. For some reason the lead vox guy keep saying the "F" word a lot--and that goes over so well with me...
He signed a 8x10 for me and I had me picture taken with him.
He signed Patrick's arm and I took their picture too. Patrick is going to have the autograph tattooed on his arm by his other Poison tattoos.
It was really cool. Bret is a gracious performer and really nice guy. I told him the episode of "Yes Dear" he guest starred on is my favorite. I love that episode!! He was very grateful for me mentioning that too. I told them the next time they were in SLC to have me make cake for them, he told me to give one of my cards to John, so I did, it was cool.
Enjoy the rest of these concert photos:

CC Deville during his AWESOME solo time!
